Everyday: gentle vacuuming
Regular vacuuming is the best prevention: about once or twice a month, with a flat soft brush, no abrupt passes over the fringes.
Brush the fringes gently along their direction. Never cut them, even when a few strands come loose.
One useful habit: turn a lightly used rug over once a year to even out the wear between the two faces.
Fresh stains: stay minimal
On a fresh stain, the first method is absorption: dab with a clean cloth, pressing without rubbing. Rubbing opens the fibre and spreads the stain.
On a dyed rug, avoid acidic products and bleach: they often bleed past the stain and leave a halo worse than the original mark.
A little clear water or neutral soapy water, dabbed on and absorbed with a second cloth, keeps the risk low. On an old or valuable rug, do not improvise.
The deep wash, best left to professionals
Once or twice a year, a real rug benefits from deep dust extraction and a wash with neutral products suited to natural fibres.
We clean standard-size rugs at home. For very large formats or fragile pieces, a workshop wash is better: we will tell you honestly when it is needed.
Never rub wet wool: it deforms. The visit is planned on quote, Monday to Saturday, across Greater Agadir.
